Sorry for the lack of posting. I could say that this was because I was on break, but I really was in a funk with my hair. For some reason I couldn’t figure out how to do my hair the way I wanted.
Firstly, I’m never doing mini twists again. I realize that I hate long-term protective styles (long-term being more than a week). Also, taking down the twists and detangling was too much work. I think I only kept the twists in for 1.5 weeks, so it totally wasn’t worth it.
Secondly, I experimented with cowashing every day and letting my hair air dry, but I hated it. When I went to sleep, my hair would get smushed and tangled and horrible and the morning cowash/detangling session took too long. It was just too much to deal with.
Now I’ve found that I should just stick to what I was doing during the summer. That is putting my hair in twists right after I wash, letting them dry in twists, and then styling on stretched hair. For some reason I guess I just wanted to try something new. Now I know to just stick to old faithful.
Sorry for the long text post, but I just wanted to give you guys an update and explain my absence! Thanks for following me!
I think I’m going to start a bun/protective style challenge. I haven’t decided how long I’m going to be on the challenge, though. I’ll probably go until the new year or early February. I feel like although my hair has grown since the summer, it hasn’t grown as much as I thought it should. Also, I cut off about an inch because I didn’t really like how my ends felt. Hopefully by bunning my ends will be healthier and I’ll be able to retain more length.
I had a dream that a Dominican woman told me I had “pelo malo.” I politely told her off and said that all hair is beautiful and I especially love my own. When I looked in the mirror, my hair was in an awesome updo that looked fabulous.
